IRTS offers a range of rugged full MIL specs computers that meet mainly the requirements of the military market and the most demanding applications of the industrial sector.

Our offer comprises:

A4RK COTS COMPACT RUGGED COMPUTER

Within a COTS strategy of compact rugged computers, IRTS offers the A4RK computer from A4R 10” to 17” Panel Pcs range, allowing de facto a split version of these Panel Pcs.

A4RK computer is based on a COM Express® architecture and integrates processor modules of 6th generation as i3 (Intel® Core™ i3-6100U) or i7 (Intel® Core™ i7-6600U). Other processors can be selected upon customers’ needs and depending on the best available ratios between performance, power consumption and market price.

A4RK is powered with 18/36 VDC with galvanic isolation. In order to comply with the 1275D MIL standard, the integrated power supply has to be either coupled with an optional internal 10mn battery life LiPo battery or completed with an optional PLD (Power Line Disturbance) module.

A4RK offers various extension slots:

  • 1 x mini PCI Express extension slot
  • 1 x slot for IRTS custom board (additional USB and I/O, PCI Express, etc…)

Inputs /outputs, selection of the corresponding type of connectors and their pin-out can be easily defined and adapted within a modified COTS approach.

Software standard environments are Windows Embedded and Linux Xubuntu.

The A4RK compact rugged computer present characteristics of sustainability which respond to customers’ requirements for 12 to 15 year-time supply, repair and support.

The life cycle of these computers is managed in cycles of at least 5 years. In 2016, A4RK MK3 generation was launched and will be kept in the IRTS catalogue product up to the end 2021.

In the scope of customers’ orders or long-term programs, A4RK can be manufactured and repaired according to an FFF (Form Fit and Function) production strategy or according to a production with strictly identical BOM - Bill Of Material - at the component level which entails

for the customer to finance IRTS dedicated stocks of components.

A3RK COTS RUGGED COMPUTER

RUGGED COMPUTER ON DEMAND

IRTS has designed, developed and qualified many configurations of rugged computers for the industrial and military markets.

For single board computers, IRTS is an early adopter (since 17 years) of common standards such as ETXexpress, COM Express®, compact & mini ETXexpress for the design of rugged compact computers. In 2017 IRTS masters an expertise in the design of computer innovative architectures which can in some case implement FPGA components for which IRTS uses proven and tested IP software.

As an equipment manufacturer and service provider, IRTS proposes a Custom Designs activity consisting in developing dedicated and bespoke rugged compact computers.

 

For multi-board backplane rugged computers, the component standards mastered by IRTS are the followings:

  • VME/VPX and Compact PCI, single and double Europe format standards,
  • PICMG & ATX standard

I/O boards operate standards "add on" with PCI, PMC, PCI Express, VPX and XMC.

These computers can be supplied as turnkey solutions with full integration (BITE, drivers) for common operating systems such as:

  • Windows™
  • Windows Embedded™
  • Linux™ Xubuntu and Lynux Works,
  • LynxOS and VxWorks for the real time "operating system",

NAS DATA SERVER

IRTS has designed, manufactured and qualified a SWaP-C computer in order to respond to the market requirements for data micro server coupled with the backup capacity of a removable media.

The IRTS NAS Server has been tested and certified for helicopter environment and is dedicated for the ARMY and AIRBORNE markets.
